Shahid Kapoor recently shared his thoughts on Imtiaz Ali’s humorous remark about Geet and Aditya, the beloved characters from the 2007 classic Jab We Met, possibly heading for a divorce. The actor, who played Aditya Kashyap opposite Kareena Kapoor’s Geet, found the idea amusing and revealed why the iconic duo might face trouble in paradise.
In an interview with Indian Express, Shahid reacted to a clip where Imtiaz joked about Geet and Aditya being at a divorce lawyer’s office. Laughing, Shahid said, “That’s actually a fun idea. Geet and Aditya might break up because they’re frustrated with each other. Aditya might be like, ‘She is her own favourite—who can ever put up with her?’” When asked about fans’ potential disappointment, Shahid playfully stated that if the director envisions a breakup, it’s not his place to object.
Released in 2007, Jab We Met remains a cultural touchstone, with Geet’s vibrant persona and Aditya’s calm demeanor capturing fans’ hearts. Produced on a modest budget of Rs 15 crore, the film grossed over Rs 50 crore and became a cult classic.
Meanwhile, Shahid is gearing up for the release of Deva, an action-packed thriller slated for January 31, 2025. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the film sees Shahid as a relentless cop, alongside Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati. Backed by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, Deva promises a gripping cinematic experience.
