On July 26, Shakira disclosed that she had a close encounter with a rat while shooting the music video for her brand-new song, “Copa Vaca.” The 46-year-old ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer shared a video to her Instagram handle in which she can be seen lying in a pile of trash dressed as a mermaid. Her hair is pink.
The rat is seen scampering over to Shakira, near her head. She screams and rises to her feet. Her hair extensions are left behind. She captioned the clip, “Things that happen even to mermaids.”

The music video tells the tale of a mermaid who is taken from her ocean and placed in a display tank. Colombian singer Manuel Turizo also features in the video.
Several fans reacted to the rat video, with one user joking, Pique trying come back”. “Pique showing up,” one user said, while another wrote, “Dmnnn girl you are too good for Piqué !!!!!!” Fans were referring to Shakira’s ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué.
