Shares of oil companies slip after increase in Petrol & Diesel prices

The share price of oil companies have declined by 1-2% on the early trade on Jan 27 after petrol and diesel prices soared to a new heights. In Delhi, Petrol prices have increased by 25 paise per liter at Rs.86.30. Diesel prices have similarly increased by 25 paise and settling at Rs.76.48 per litre.

In Mumbai, Diesel is up by 27 paise and petrol is up by 24 paise, making the prices fall at Rs.83.60 and Rs. 92.86 per litre  respectively.

The Petroleum & Natural Gas Ministry has asked the Finance Ministry to cut down the taxes seeing the increase in cost of petrol & diesel.

  • Brent crude futures increased by 11 cents at $56.02 a barrel.
  • Indian Oil Corporation share was trading at Rs.90.90 seeing a slight decline of 2.73%.
  • Hindustan Petroleum Corporation – Rs.216.25 down by 1.79%.
  • Bharat Petroleum Corporation – Rs.384.50 down by 0.72%.
  • Oil & Natural Gas Corporation – Rs.90.25 down by 1.20%.
