The premises of businessman Raj Kundra, husband of actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra, were raided by the ED on Friday as part of a money laundering investigation. Amid media reports linking Shilpa Shetty to the probe, her advocate, Prashant Patil, issued an official statement denying her involvement.
In his statement, it was clarified by Patil that claims about ED raids on Shilpa Shetty were baseless and misleading. It has been stated that Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra has no connection to any offences under investigation. The information provided by her confirms that no ED raid has taken place on her premises, it was asserted by the advocate.It was further mentioned by Patil that the ongoing investigation is solely related to Raj Kundra and that he is cooperating fully to ensure the truth emerges.
The misuse of Shilpa Shetty’s name by the media was criticized strongly. A request has been made for the media to refrain from sharing her pictures, videos, or name in connection with this case, as her involvement is non-existent, it was emphasized by Patil.
Legal action against irresponsible journalism was also warned, with Patil stating that strict cognizance would be taken against such behavior.The ED investigation continues, while Shilpa Shetty has reiterated her detachment from the case through her legal counsel.
