Shilpa Shetty, one of Bollywood’s most loved stars from the 90s, continues to remain as relevant as ever in films, dance shows, and on social media. Known for her timeless presence and evolving style, the actor recently shared some interesting insights about how her family shapes her choices, both personally and professionally.
In a candid chat on The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra, Shilpa revealed that her mother Sunanda Shetty has always been her biggest critic. “Critic toh sabse badi meri mummy rahi hain. Even today if I wear a high blouse, she says, ‘I didn’t like this one.’ She is my true audience and never hesitates to call a spade a spade,” Shilpa said. Her sister Shamita too, she added, doesn’t hold back her opinions.
Speaking about her husband Raj Kundra, the actor mentioned that for the first few years of their marriage, he rarely commented on her choices. “After five years, he started saying things like, ‘You shouldn’t have worn that,’” she laughed.
Interestingly, Shilpa shared how her kids have also become a part of her journey. While her son Viaan is easygoing and often advises her on sneakers or “kicks” as he calls them her five-year-old daughter Samisha is still enchanted by the paparazzi culture and often tells her, “Mumma, you’re famous.”
On the work front, Shilpa will soon be seen in the Kannada action drama KD: The Devil, co-starring Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi, releasing on September 4.
