Shraddha Kapoor, who has been away from the big screen since the release of Stree 2 in 2024, is currently busy working on her next film Eetha. But just as fans were hoping for updates, news surfaced that the shoot has been temporarily halted after the actor suffered an injury on set.
According to reports by Mid-Day, Shraddha was filming a Lavani dance sequence earlier this month when she lost balance during an intense portion of the choreography. Known for its fast beats and quick pace, Lavani required Shraddha to perform a series of back-to-back steps dressed in a vibrant Nauvari saree, heavy jewellery and kamarpatta. For the role of young Vithabai, the legendary Tamasha artiste the film is based on, she has reportedly gained over 15 kilos.
The accident occurred when she unknowingly shifted her full weight onto her left foot, causing her to slip and injure her toe. With Shraddha in pain, director Laxman Utekar immediately paused the shoot. However, the actor insisted on making the most of the schedule and continued filming close-up and emotional scenes after returning to Mumbai.
But as the pain increased, the team was forced to stop all work and allow her to rest. The unit is expected to resume shooting in about two weeks, once Shraddha has fully recovered.
Eetha is a biopic based on the life of Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, one of Maharashtra’s most celebrated dancers and Tamasha performers. Fans are now sending their wishes for Shraddha’s speedy recovery and eagerly awaiting her comeback on screen.
