Actor Simar Bhatia is stepping into the spotlight with confidence after her recent debut in Ikkis. Featuring in an exclusive shoot for HT City Showstoppers, the newcomer opened up about how life has changed since her first film and the encouragement that has shaped her early journey.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis marked Simar’s entry into the industry. While the film brought her recognition, one moment stands out for her. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan personally shared his thoughts on her performance and even mentioned his favourite scene. For Simar, that gesture carried special meaning. She described it as generous and reassuring, especially at a time when she is just beginning to find her footing in cinema.
Interestingly, Ikkis was not the project she initially auditioned for. Simar revealed that she had tried out for another film when she was asked to test for Ikkis instead. After multiple rounds of auditions, she received what she calls a life-changing call from producer Dinesh Vijan, informing her that she had secured the role and would leave for the shoot within days.
The niece of Akshay Kumar, Simar says the response to her debut has been encouraging. With optimism about future projects, she believes the early validation has strengthened her resolve to carve her own space on screen.
