Prime Video has given fans a first look at its upcoming romantic comedy, Picture This, starring Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley and After star Hero Fiennes Tiffin. The film, a UK original, is directed by Prarthana Mohan, best known for The Miseducation of Bindu.
Picture This is based on the Australian rom-com Five Blind Dates, with the screenplay adapted by Nikita Lalwani from the original work by Shaung Hu and Nathan Ramos-Park.
The movie boasts a star-studded cast alongside Ashley and Tiffin, including Ted Lasso actor Phil Dunster, Bend It Like Beckham’s Kulvinder Ghir, London Has Fallen star Nikesh Patel, Citizen Khan’s Adil Ray, You actress Anoushka Chadha, Matilda: The Musical’s Sindhu Vee, and Still Up’s Luke Fetherston.
Set in the heart of London, the film follows Pia (Ashley), a fiercely independent woman who juggles managing a struggling photography studio with her best friend Jay. Life takes an unexpected turn when her younger sister Sonal (Chadha) gets engaged, prompting their mother, Laxmi (Vee), to insist that Pia also needs to find love. During Sonal’s engagement party, a spiritual guru predicts that Pia will meet her true love within her next five dates. What follows is a whirlwind of blind dates set up by her eager family, each bringing its own surprises, awkward moments, and potential for romance.
Tara Erer, Head of Northern European Originals at Prime Video, shared her excitement for the film, calling it a “brilliant and original London-set romantic comedy.” She praised the cast, particularly leads Simone Ashley and Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and expressed confidence that audiences would love the film’s humor and charm.
