Hollywood actor Sophie Turner has spoken about her growing interest in Indian cinema, revealing her favourite stars and films in a recent interaction with Firstpost. The actor, best known for her work in international projects, shared that she deeply enjoyed watching RRR, the Telugu-language epic directed by SS Rajamouli.
During the conversation, Sophie named Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone as her favourite Indian actors. Calling Shah Rukh “the GOAT,” she praised his lasting impact and popularity, while also describing Deepika as an amazing performer. Sophie added that RRR, starring NTR Jr and Ram Charan, left a strong impression on her, highlighting her appreciation for large-scale storytelling from India.
Sophie also expressed her desire to work in a Hindi film someday. She said she would love to experience Bollywood dance sequences and grand visual spectacles, noting that the scale and production design of Indian films feel very different from Western cinema. According to her, the visual richness and celebratory nature of Bollywood films make them particularly appealing.
Although she has not worked in Indian films yet, Sophie has visited the country before. She travelled to India in 2018 to attend the wedding celebrations of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra in Jodhpur.
Sophie’s praise adds to the long list of Hollywood celebrities who have openly admired Shah Rukh Khan, including Daniel Radcliffe, Hugh Jackman and Leonardo DiCaprio. Deepika Padukone, too, has received global recognition, especially after her Hollywood debut alongside Vin Diesel.
