Sovereign gold bond issue price fixed at ₹4,912 per gram by RBI

The sovereign gold bond issue price has been fixed at ₹4,912 per gram by the Reserve Bank of India. Subscription for the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2020-21 – Series XI will be open from February 1- February 5, 2021, said RBI on Friday.

The nominal value of the bond is based on the simple average closing price published by India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd (IBJA) for gold of 999 purity of the last three business days of the week preceding the subscription period, January 27, 28, 29.

In consultation with the RBI, the government has decided to offer a discount of 50 per gram to investors and making payment for the application through a digital medium.

The minimum subscription limit will be 1 gram and a maximum of 4 kg for individuals and Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), 20 kg for trusts and similar entities per fiscal year.
