Siddharth Pithani, former roommate of Bollywood actor late Sushant Singh Rajput, and an accused in a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, has pleaded bail from Special Court for his wedding.
Pithani said that he was getting married on June 26, 2021 and also submitted his wedding card with the bail petition. Siddharth Pithani was imprisoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drug case being probed in relation with the death of Rajput and had been remanded to judicial custody till June 18, 2021.
Pithani claimed that from the period of June to September, he had been attending the office of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for 20 days and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office for 2 days.
He was arrested for offences punishable under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii), 22, 27A, 28, 29 and 30 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
After obtaining a transit permit from the CMM Court at Hyderabad, Pithani was produced before the CMM at Esplanade, Mumbai. He was remanded to NCB custody till June 1 and thereafter remanded to judicial custody which was extended till June 18, 2021.
