Statue of Mahatma Gandhi vandalized in US Park, Indian Embassy demands investigation

The statue of Gandhi in the park of US, California has been vandalized by some unknown miscreants as India mourns the loss of it’s prominent leader, Mahatma Gandhi on his 73rd Death anniversary. The statue has been broken and ripped from the base and ignited a widespread outrage among Indian- American’s.

The 6’4 ft, bronze statue was placed in Central Park, Northern California. It has been chopped from ankles and half of the face is severed & stolen. It was found lying on the ground on Jan 27 by a park employee.

People have demanded the investigation but investigators are still not sure about the motive behind this. India Embassy has condemns the act and taken the matter to the US Department of the State for a through investigation.
