Staying consistent for the full 60 minutes is our mantra: Rupinder Pal Singh

India’s ace Hokey player Rupinder Pal Singh said that staying consistent for the full 60 minutes will be their key mantra for the Indian Hockey side when we are encountering the other sides during the Tokyo Olympics.

India recently had a successful European and Argentine tour which was led by Manpreet Singh where they faced a deficit only once that too during a practice game in Argentina. Singh was also a part of the Indian side which toured Argentina last month for the FIH Pro League.

Rupinder Singh India’s seasoned drag flicker opined that the Indian side’s motive shouldn’t be winning the game. Rather,  we should try strategizing  the game on a minute to minute to basis so that we can end it on a happy note.

Also, Singh said that “Ideally, these 10 matches aren’t enough as a preparation for an event like the Tokyo Olympics. After we came from the Argentina tour, according to the plan we had around 15-20 games and that would have been perfect before the Olympics.”

Due to the surge of Covid-19 in India, the country’s hockey side nearly missed out 15-20 games where India had to head on sides like Spain, Great Britain and Germany.  But, all these games got cancelled due to travel restrictions that came into play because of the pandemic.
