Steel produces write to PM Modi demanding ban on exports

A steel producer body has written to the PM explaining about the rise in the prices of metal and that it was due to surging raw material costs and has also demanded a temporary ban on the exports for six months. The price of hot-rolled coil has increased by 46% at Rs. 52,000/- in Nov which was earlier at Rs.37,400/- in July. TMT Rebar is selling at Rs. 50,000 a tonne. The prices of iron ore exports had increased by 70.3% during the fiscal year.
