Dilip Kumar

Dilip Kumar is a legendary Bollywood actor who was born Muhammad Yusuf Khan on December 11, 1922, in Peshawar, Pakistan. He was known for his good looks, deep voice, and fine accent in addition to his acting. Dilip Kumar was employed in a British army canteen when he was spotted by Devika Rani, a leading actress at the time, and her partner, Himanshu Rai, who hired him to act for their film studio, Bombay Talkies. With the film Jwar bhata in 1944, Dilip Kumar made his acting debut. Kumar was honoured with a Filmfare Award for lifetime achievement in 1994. The next year, he received India’s top award for cinematic creativity, the Dadasaheb Phalke award. He owns the Guinness World Record for most awards won.
2. Dev Anand

Dev Anand was born Dharam Dev Kundan Lal Pishorimal Anand in Gurdaspur district in undivided Punjab to well-to-do advocate Pishorimal Anand. His love for acting made him leave his hometown for the centre of the Hindi film industry, Mumbai. Dev began his career in the military censor office at Churchgate, Mumbai, for a salary of Rs. 160. Prabhat Talkies quickly gave him a break as an actor, casting him in their Hum Ek Hain film (1946). Dev’s autobiography, “Romancing with Life,” was published in September 2007 at a birthday party hosted by Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
3. Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan is the son of renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and he starred in the film Saat Hindustani. After receiving a letter of introduction from Prime Minister Mrs Indira Gandhi, he landed a role in Bollywood as a friend of her son Rajiv Gandhi. This is how he broke into the Bollywood film industry. Even though that the film did not do well, he earned his first National Film Award for Best Newcomer for it. From a boy belonging to a middle-class family to the King Khan of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan’s success journey was full of thrones. From poverty to sleeping on the streets SRK faced many challenges. His career started with television serials in the 1980s. He made his first debut in the film Deewana in 1992. Later many of his films including Darr, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kal ho na ho, Don were the biggest hit of all times. He has received several awards including 14 Filmfare awards and also received Padma Shri in the year 2005.
5. Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar born on September 9, 1967, in Amritsar, Punjab as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, is an Indian actor who rose to prominence in Bollywood and is known for his versatility. He worked at a Bangkok food stand, attempted modelling, and starred in several films before director Pramod Chakravarthy offered him a starring role in Deedar Kumar’s agility and daredevil nature were on show in action films including Main Khiladi Tu anari in 1994, in which he portrayed a police inspector tasked with shielding a movie star. Akshay Kumar was awarded the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honours, in 2009 for his contribution to the country’s cultural life.
6. Salman Khan

Salman Khan, who was born on December 27, 1965, is the most famous Indian actor at the moment. Salim Khan is his father, a well-known screenwriter. Although he was the son of a famous father, he had a difficult time gaining success and prominence in the Bollywood film industry. For his achievements, he never mentions his father’s name. He worked hard to become an apprentice chef at Taj Hotels and a flight attendant at Air India, but he was turned down for both positions due to a lack of qualifications. Jackie eventually got a job as a travel agent at “Trade Wings,” a small business near the Jehangir Art Gallery. 8. Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput came from a middle-class family and started his acting career in the television serial Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil. He portrayed the role of Manav in the popular television soap opera Pavitra Rishta and gained popularity. In 2013, he made his Bollywood debut in the film Kai Po Che. In 2016, he acted in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, a biopic of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and won millions of hearts. On 14th June 2020, Sushant committed suicide breaking millions of hearts of his fans and followers. Sushant made his place in Bollywood with his hard work and humble nature. 9. Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin came from a remote village called Budhana in the Muzzafarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, where he didn’t have much opportunity for schooling. His family moved out for a better life due to their fear of weapons. To help his family, Nawazuddin Siddiqui completed his graduation from Haridwar and began working as a chief chemist in Baroda. Yet his ambitions went well above what his family could afford. He had a small part in the film Sarfarosh, which gave him a little more fame but no real appreciation, and his poverty persisted. The Black Friday, directed by Anurag Kashyap, was his first proper appearance in Bollywood (2007). He received acclaim for his work in Gangs Of Wasseypur in 2012, which marked a watershed moment in his career. He performed so well in that film that the entire Bollywood industry recognised and praised him for it. After the split, Nawazuddin Siddiqui didn’t look back and continued to make amazing films one after the other. His name among the top successful actors will be worthy.
10. Rajkumar Rao

Rajkumar Rao was born in Gurgoan to a lower-middle-class family. He began his acting career in 2010 with the groundbreaking film Love Sex Aur Dhokha and rose to prominence in 2013 with the drama film Kai Po Che!, for which he earned a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Following Kai Po Che!, Rajkummar gave an outstanding performance in the biopic Shahid, which is based on the life of slain lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi.
