Sumbul Touqeer Khan Slams Bigg Boss 19 After Ashnoor Kaur’s Eviction; Calls Out ‘Hypocrisy’ in Rules

The controversy around Ashnoor Kaur’s eviction from Bigg Boss 19 has taken a new turn, as former contestant Sumbul Touqeer Khan openly criticised the show’s handling of the incident. Ashnoor, who was evicted just a week before the finale, was dismissed for hitting co-contestant Tanya Mittal with a wooden plank during a task, an act she maintained was unintentional.

During Weekend Ka Vaar, host Salman Khan addressed the altercation and stated that Ashnoor’s behaviour amounted to a major rule violation. He argued that she acted out of aggression, showed no remorse, and therefore had to leave the house immediately. Despite breaking down in tears, Ashnoor insisted she had only dropped the plank because her arms were sore, not with the intention to harm Tanya.

Following the episode, Sumbul voiced her support for Ashnoor through an Instagram post. Sharing a still of Kunickaa Sadanand restraining Ashnoor, she questioned, “Is this not bal ka prayog? Even this is against the rules.” She also pointed out that past contestants like Archana had been brought back despite similar behaviour, and reminded viewers that Tanya herself had pushed and kicked contestants before.

Sumbul clarified that she was not defending violence but calling out inconsistency. “Ashnoor’s eviction would have been fair if every contestant who raised their hand had been evicted. Suddenly, the rules have become so important,” she wrote.
