Netflix India unveiled the first-look teaser of its upcoming legal drama Ikka on Tuesday, February 3, instantly generating strong interest among film audiences. The teaser brings together Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, who are sharing screen space again after nearly 30 years since their iconic collaboration in Border. Their reunion has added significant weight to the project, positioning Ikka as one of Netflix India’s most anticipated dramas.
The teaser opens with Sunny Deol stepping into the role of a respected and incorruptible lawyer pulled into a complicated murder case. His courtroom presence has reminded viewers of his much-loved role from Damini, where he portrayed a fearless advocate. According to the official synopsis, his character is forced to defend a murder accused whose career he had previously destroyed, leaving him with no option but to fight the case at any cost, as failure would mean losing everything he values.
Akshaye Khanna appears in a dark and menacing avatar, instantly drawing comparisons to his acclaimed performance as Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar. His character comes across as determined and unyielding, adding tension and intrigue to the legal battle as the teaser hints at chaos unfolding inside the courtroom.
Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra of Maharaj fame and written by Althea Kaushal and Mayank Tewari, Ikka also stars Dia Mirza, Tillotama Shome, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Shishir Sharma and Akansha Ranjan in key roles.
