Sunny Leone opens up about surrogacy journey and reveals why she chose not to be pregnant

Sunny Leone revealed on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast that she chose surrogacy because she did not want to be pregnant, and shared how the surrogate mother used the payment to build a house and fund a wedding.

Actor Sunny Leone, mother of three, has shared an honest account of her parenthood journey in the latest episode of Soha Ali Khan’s podcast All About Her. In the upcoming conversation, Sunny spoke about adoption, surrogacy, and her personal choices as a mother.

Sunny and her husband Daniel Weber adopted their daughter Nisha in 2017, and later welcomed twin boys Noah and Asher via surrogacy in 2018. During the podcast trailer, Sunny admitted that her decision to opt for surrogacy was intentional because she did not want to go through pregnancy. “Yeah, I did not,” she said candidly when asked by Soha.

She went on to explain how the surrogacy process worked for her family. Sunny revealed that the surrogate mother was paid generously, receiving a weekly fee and financial support for her husband to take leave from work. The money eventually helped the surrogate build a home and host a grand wedding. “We paid so much money. She bought a house and she had a beautiful large wedding,” Sunny recalled.

The actor also reflected on the timing of her adoption and surrogacy journey, sharing that the day of her IVF procedure coincided with the day she was matched with her daughter Nisha. Sunny Leone, who entered Bollywood after Bigg Boss 5, has since acted in films like Jism 2, Ragini MMS 2, Ek Paheli Leela and Mastizaade. She also continues to connect with audiences as the host of MTV Splitsvilla.
