Bhagat Singh Koshiyari was the former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and had been allocated a government bungalow. Bhagat Singh Koshiyari had passed the Uttarakhand High Court notice to the Supreme Court. The notice alleged him of not paying the market rent and committing “willful non-compliance”. The Supreme Court has challenged the High Court as to how they had decided the market rent rates.
