Actor Swara Bhasker, known for her inter-faith marriage to politician Fahad Ahmad, has shared insights into her parenting style, emphasizing the importance of celebrating diverse traditions. In a recent interview on SCREEN’s The Suvir Saran Show, Swara revealed her intention to raise her daughter, Raabiyaa, in an environment that embraces multiple cultures and religions.
Swara explained that her own childhood was deeply influenced by religious stories, recounting how her father would share tales from the Ramayan and Mahabharat to encourage her to eat. She explained how this method seamlessly integrated culture into her upbringing. Now, as a mother, Swara continues this approach with her daughter.
“I don’t disbelieve in anything,” she said, highlighting her decision to expose Raabiyaa to rituals from all religions and cultures. Swara shared how she and Fahad performed various rituals for their daughter from different faiths, ensuring that she is nurtured with a sense of cultural diversity. “When Raabiyaa is unwell, I ask Fahad to recite a prayer,” she added.
Swara married Fahad Ahmad, a politician, in February 2023 and welcomed Raabiyaa in September that year. Fahad, formerly a Samajwadi Party member, contested the Maharashtra Assembly elections in 2024 as a member of the Nationalist Congress Party.On the work front, Swara was last seen in Jahaan Chaar Yaar and Mimansa (2022) and will next appear in Mrs Falani, though the release date is yet to be announced.
