Tanya Mittal brushes off backlash on Pahalgam statement; shifts focus to Bigg Boss 19

Bigg Boss 19 contestant Tanya Mittal, who faced backlash earlier this year for her remarks on the Pahalgam attack, says the controversy never affected her and she continues to focus on her journey.

Tanya Mittal, the spiritual influencer and entrepreneur who is currently making headlines inside Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 19, has spoken about the controversy that surrounded her earlier this year. In April, she faced criticism for her statement on the tragic Pahalgam attack, where 26 people lost their lives. Her remark that “terrorism has no religion” sparked strong debate on social media.

The controversy deepened when the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department clarified that Tanya was never their brand ambassador, despite the mention in her Instagram bio. Speaking about it in a conversation with Hindustan Times ahead of entering the Bigg Boss house, Tanya revealed that the backlash did not affect her. She said she continued traveling and creating content within days of the uproar, insisting that she knows her truth.

Tanya explained that she chose not to prove her innocence, stating, “If goodness has to step out to prove itself, that day evil wins.” She also pointed out how people distanced themselves during difficult times, adding that she is now involved with more projects across states and refuses to let negativity hold her back.

Inside the Bigg Boss house, Tanya has already made her presence felt. While some viewers find her irritating and self-obsessed, others call her an entertainer. Alongside Tanya, the season also features Awez Darbar, Nagma Mirajkar, Mridul Tiwari, Kunickaa Sadanand, Gaurav Khanna, Baseer Ali, Ashnoor Kaur, Abhishek Bajaj and Zeishaan Quadri.
