Tarun Bajaj given a charge of the Department of Revenue

Tarun Bajaj, a senior bureaucrat, has been given the additional-charge of Secretary, Department of Revenue, government announced on February 27.

Scheduled to retire at end of this month, Dr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey is the predecessor for this position.

Bajaj would hold the additional charge “till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders”, said the statement issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. The committee is headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A 1988-batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre, Bajaj is currently serving as the Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in the Finance Ministry. He was earlier serving as the Additional Secretary in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). On May 6 last year, he was appointed as a director on the central board of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
