Changes to be made at Tata Sons’ board; Pramit Jhaveri among top contenders: Sources

Farida Khambata, Tata Sons’ board member term to conclude soon. As per reports, she can be considered on the boards of Tata steel and TCS. Pramit Jhaveri, former CEO of Citi India and Tata Group’s Noel Tata are expected to be the top contenders for the Tata Son’s board as few positions get vacated. In the coming weeks Tata group is likely to take their ultimate decisions .

“We have no comments to offer,” Tata Sons’ e-mailed their response to ‘Moneycontrol’ . There were no words from Tata Steel and TCS . Pramit Jhaveri and Noel Tata too stayed silent on the issue.

Pramit Jhaveri is currently designated as a senior advisor to Wall Street boutique investment bank PJT partners. In February 2020, Pramit Jhaveri joined Tata Trusts as a trustee. According to sources as the retiring members vacates few positions, the trustee is considering him to be their nominee on the boards of Tata sons.

In 2019, Noel Tata has been appointed as a trustee of Sir Ratan Tata Trust. He is expected to be the nominee who can be assigned as the Director on the board of Tata Sons. He is presently the Chairman of Trent (Westside) and Tata Investment corporation. He is also the Managing Director of Tata International and Vice Chairman of Titan Company .
