It is well known that Taylor Swift pulled out all the stops to transform her Eras Tour into a spectacular event. The recently concluded US leg of the tour was thrilling, to say the least, with sparkling one-of-a-kind outfits and never-heard-before songs. Away from the glamour, however, the tour has faced its own set of unexpected challenges.
When the tour tickets went on sale on Ticketmaster in November 2022, chaos began. Tickets, which were already costly priced, vanished in an instant, only to reappear on the resale market at ridiculous costs. Many others, including those who had jumped through hoops to join Taylor Swift Tix through Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program, were either locked out or forced to empty their pockets to get a seat.
And if you were lucky enough to go to a concert, you still had to wait in line for hours and pay up to $75 for Eras-themed merchandise. So, despite the high price tag, was having a memento of the magnificent tour worth it? Here’s all you need to know.

Was Taylor Swift’s Eras merch worth it despite its high price?
After spending a significant amount of money and enduring hours of outdoor camping, loyal Swifties were left with a cherished memento of one of the greatest tours in ever. Unfortunately, the ensuing thrill later gave way to widespread disappointment. Despite the expensive price tag, the hyped-up merchandise, according to Vulture, fell short of expectations.
A fan who waited in line for more than five hours to get a grey quarter-zip hoodie told Vulture that “after one wash, the print was horribly faded to the point Taylor’s face on the print was unrecognizable.”
“It was also 65 dollars, which I feel like is more than enough for it to hold up. It’s super disappointing that it looks this bad.”
A few customers even went so far as to skip the wash and iron the merchandise under parchment paper to preserve the delicate design. However, these DIY tricks were not well received by a few customers, who thought that given the insane price, such glaring quality issues were totally unacceptable.
Swift’s team tried to smooth things up after getting several complaints from furious fans by suggesting that the clothes were designed intentionally to fade a bit after washing to achieve a ‘vintage’ aesthetic.
