Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, Tenneco Clean Air India, in collaboration with the 15th Battalion of the Jat Regiment and Vaghmi Foundation, launched ‘Vriksharopan Abhiyan’ at the Jat Regiment premises in Lullanagar, Pune. The initiative entails the plantation of 5,000 saplings, supported by an 18-month maintenance programme to ensure long-term environmental impact.
The initiative brought together Tenneco leadership, officers and personnel from the 15th Battalion of the Jat Regiment, and representatives of the Vaghmi Foundation. The programme reinforces Tenneco’s focus on environmental stewardship and highlights the importance of collective efforts in driving sustainable community initiatives.
Speaking about the initiative, Rishi Verma, President, Tenneco India, said, “The Vriksharopan Abhiyan is a meaningful step in Tenneco’s larger ambition to contribute to India’s environmental priorities. Our focus is on nurturing long-term green cover through structured care, protection and scientific monitoring. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to create healthier, more resilient ecosystems that benefit the community for years to come.”
Each sapling planted under the initiative will be tagged and documented to enable systematic monitoring, survival tracking, and quarterly reporting by the Vaghmi Foundation. Tenneco employees and Foundation representatives will continue their engagement through periodic revisits, ensuring accountability and long-term sustainability.
