1. THE NUN II
The Nun II takes place 4 years after the first, in 1956, with Frenchie and Sister Irene in France. When a priest is brutally killed and she goes to investigate, they must have to fight the terrifying creature again. It’s one of the best horror movies coming out in September, with themes of religion and a captivatingly evil villain. The Nun II releases on 8th September.
2. A Haunting in Venice
Both the crime and horror genres have their own cult followings, but when these two genres come together, cult masterpieces like the Scream franchise arise. The new horror film, A Haunting in Venice, appears to have done an excellent job of mixing the genre with a post-World War II theme. A Haunting in Venice releases on September 15th.
3. Deliver Us
Deliver Us was first named Kill the Child, but the title changed due to the complications that could arise from its concept. The plot revolves around a nun from a remote covenant who claims immaculate conception, and the Vatican is forced to send a team of priests to investigate. Deliver Us releases 29th September.
4. SAW X
Saw has been an important part of the horror genre since its debut in 2004. The well-known Jigsaw killer mutilates new victims in the tenth instalment of the series, with Tobin Bell returning to his role as John Kramer. Shawnee Smith returns to her role as Amanda Young. The latest instalment in the franchise is a direct sequel to the original Saw and a prequel to Saw II. Saw X releases on 29th September.
5. All Fun and Games
A group of unsuspecting teens finds a cursed dagger that wakes a monster in the mysterious town of Salem. Asa Butterfield and Natalia Dyer star in this spine-chilling thriller in which innocent games such as hide and seek and hangman turn into dangerous survival tests. It’s a terrifying debut for Ari Costa and Eren Celeboglu, who directed it. All Fun and Games was released on September 1.
6. It Lives Inside
It Lives Inside gives a cultural representation of loneliness that we don’t frequently see in American horror. The film received a 67% critics’ rating following its premiere at SXSW this year, according to Rotten Tomatoes, with the majority of their responses being favourable. It will released on 22nd September.
