The Operation Blue Star was observed to refer to the Indian military action from June 1 and June 10 in 1984 in order to capture the Sikh leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranvale and his followers from the building of Sri Harmandir Sahib complex, Amritsar.
With around of 6000 policemen were sent ahead on the anniversary of operation blue star on Sunday which was also a lockdown day in Punjab. Like every year this year too many Sikh organization had planned to reach at Akal Takht to witness this anniversary. This programme id to mark the event which is organized by SGPC; Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak committee.
Punjabi movie actor who turned into farmer and political activist Deep Sidhu was also witnessed at Akal Takht for the event. There was a lockdown imposed last year on this day to mark an excuse for the people and stop them going towards golden temple as the anniversary programme was underway.
There were more than 6,000 cops to lookout across Punjab especially Amritsar. A flag march conducted by the police from hall gate to heritage street on Thursday. The Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh stated that, “earlier in march it had taken a serious note of the perceptible increase in drone movement from across the international border.” When according to the CMO a stern warning was given to Pakistan stating that, “As long as I’m here, no Khalistani or Pakistani or any other terrorist activity will be allowed to disturb the peace of the state.”
