The Indian women’s team won the Kho Kho World Cup 2025

In the summit match versus Nepal here on Sunday, the Indian women’s team defeated them 78-40 to win the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup.

India put on a clinical performance at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium here on a spectacular night, showcasing their mastery of speed, strategy, and technique. Turn 1 got off to a fast start as the Indian attackers seized control of the action.

Three groups of Nepali ladies were eliminated on seven separate times by light touches, giving India a 14-point advantage. With numerous touch points to her name, skipper Priyanka Ingle was in top form as the hosts got off to a great start.

This was sufficient to get the Women in Blue to 34 points and keep the Nepali team from making a single Dream Run. B Chaithra led India’s first group of Turn 2 into the Dream Run, while Manmati Dhami defeated Vaishnavi Pawar and B Samjhana defeated Priyanka Ingle.

However, it didn’t last long since a few seconds later, Dipa finished the ALL OUT. Although this helped the team get back into the game, they were behind 11 points at the interval and only managed to collect 24 points by the end of Turn 2. In Turn 3, India dominated once more, preventing the Nepali defence from settling into a rhythm.

Despite being a regular for Nepal, BK Dipa’s efforts were in vain, as the Indians came closer to winning the trophy. In Turn 4, Chaithra orchestrated India’s Dream Run, which increased the score to an incredible 78 points. Their team played for an incredible five minutes and fourteen seconds, ending the match and making India the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup champions.

India’s journey to success had included decisive wins in the group stages against South Korea, Iran, and Malaysia, followed by victories over Bangladesh in the quarterfinals and South Africa in the semi-finals.
