The new HBO ‘Game of Thrones’ Spinoff series looks spectacular: HBO Chief

Content Chief Casey Bloys stated that the new HBO spinoff series for Game of Thrones looks spectacular. He expressed his delight with the cast doing great under Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, who are the new showrunners of the franchise.

Chief of Content at HBO and HBO Max Casey Bloys revealed that he is happy with what he has seen so far in the highly anticipated new HBO series – House of The Dragon, a prequel to its much successful predecessor HBO series – Game of Thrones. He also appreciated the casting by series developers Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, saying that the cast put together looks spectacular.

In a recent interview with Variety, confirming the other spinoffs based on Game of Thrones, Bloys said that House of The Dragon is the only spinoff in production as of now and that all the others are currently in various stages of development at the studio. Bloys also added how surprised he was to see the number of people who believed that there are multiple spinoffs of Game of Thrones actively in production. He also mentioned the author of Game of Thrones George R. R. Martin, who is helping the studio and is overseeing the development of at least six other related projects of the studio, which includes an animated series as well. Bloys reaffirmed that House of The Dragon, currently in filming in England, will be airing in 2022, and assured about the development of other related scripts.

House of The Dragon, based on George R. R. Martin’s novel Fire and Blood, serves as a companion to Song of Ice and Fire, which became Game of Thrones. The prequel series is expected to follow the Targaryen Civil War, a troubled period in House Targaryen set three hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones take place. GoT saw eight successful seasons from 2011 to 2019 under showrunners and executive producers David Benioff and D.B Weiss, who were actively involved in the franchise. However, Bloys says the showrunner-duo have been completely hands-off on House of The Dragon series, after having signed a $200 million deal with an HBO competitor. Fans of the show eagerly look forward to seeing their favorite franchise in the hands of new showrunners, Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik.
