The Office reboot rumored to be in the works from original showrunner

A reboot of the American version of “The Office” is now in the works, more than 10 years after its season finale first aired in May of 2013.

Few details have come to light beyond its purported existence, which first started circulating in a piece by Puck. It describes a number of film and television projects that may be announced shortly as a result of the WGA and AMPTP reaching a tentative deal to end the most recent writers’ strike. A reboot of the American “Office” is among the projects listed, with the original version’s showrunner Greg Daniels attached.

An official “Office”  reboot has yet to be mentioned by any other sources, thus it remains a rumor and not a done deal. Of course, given the original series’ huge popularity, it’s hard to think that “The Office” won’t return in some way, shape, or form, so it’s at least believable that Daniels would revive what is almost certainly the biggest success of his career.

There are many interesting characters in The Office. None, however, can match the charm of Steve Carell’s Michael Scott, the socially awkward yet adorable regional manager. Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling, Craig Robinson, B.J. Novak, Creed Bratton, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Ellie Kemper and Ed Helms are the rest of the cast.
