The ‘Squid Game’ creator is confident that this Avenger would win the competition, but there’s a catch

Squid Game season 2 is finally here, and creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has been busy promoting the next chapter of the deadly competition. When asked which famous figure would win in a Squid Game scenario, Dong-hyuk had an interesting choice: Iron Man—without the suit.

While it’s clear that Iron Man, with his suit, would easily dominate the games, Hwang’s pick was based on Tony Stark’s intellect, resourcefulness, and toughness in his civilian form. Hwang believes Stark’s genius and ability to think on his feet would give him a strong chance in surviving the brutal challenges of Squid Game.

Squid Game exploded in popularity after its debut in 2021, attracting a massive global audience and more than 2.8 billion hours of views. Initially, Hwang didn’t plan on a second season due to the intense challenges of producing the first one. However, the overwhelming success of the show, along with fans’ relentless curiosity about its ambiguous ending, pushed him to continue the story.

Season 2 promises new deadly games for the contestants, with some challenges leftover from the original list of ideas Hwang had for season 1. One notable moment from season 1 was the honeycomb challenge, which Hwang revealed was particularly personal to him, as he had used the same trick as the character Seong to manipulate the cookie as a child.

Fans can look forward to the thrilling continuation when Squid Game season 2 premieres on Netflix on December 26.
