The Weeknd has decided to postpone both his album release and concert in response to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. His new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, which was originally slated for release on January 24, will now drop on January 31. He also announced that his Rose Bowl concert, which was scheduled for January 25, has been pushed to a later date.
In a message shared on Instagram, the artist explained his decision: “Out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, I am canceling the Rose Bowl concert originally scheduled for January 25th.” He continued, “This city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this difficult time.” The Weeknd made it clear that his focus remains on supporting the community and aiding recovery efforts.
Ticket holders for the concert are being refunded, and the artist has expressed his dedication to helping those affected by the disaster as they rebuild. This new album will complete his trilogy, following the releases of After Hours and Dawn FM.
