The premiere episode of The White Lotus Season 3 had fans on the edge of their seats with a shocking twist. Jon Gries, who portrayed the sinister and detested character Greg in previous seasons, made a surprise cameo that left viewers gasping.
In the episode, Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood), who had been fighting with her boyfriend Rick (Walton Goggins), was found drowning her sorrows alone at the bar of the Thailand resort. She soon finds solace in a fellow guest, Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon), a young model who was also dealing with frustrations over her relationship. The two bond over their shared complaints about their grumpy boyfriends.
Chloe reveals that she lives with her older partner in a secluded home on a hill, and they only come to the resort for the restaurant. When Chloe casually points out her boyfriend across the room, it turns out to be none other than Greg (Jon Gries), the villainous character from The White Lotus Season 2.
Greg first appeared in Season 2 as a guest at the Maui resort, where he seduced the wealthy Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) with a hidden agenda. After marrying her, they traveled to the White Lotus resort in Sicily, where Tanya’s vacation turned into a nightmare. Greg’s ultimate betrayal saw him orchestrating Tanya’s murder in order to inherit her fortune. Now, with the wealth and a new, younger girlfriend, Greg appears to have achieved his goals.
However, his return to the White Lotus resort raises new questions: Could his past catch up with him? Is it possible that Belinda (Natasha Rothwell), who had a brief encounter with Greg, will recognize him? Could this lead to justice for Tanya?
Fans are eager to see how Greg’s storyline will unfold, as the mystery of Tanya’s death may finally be addressed, offering some long-awaited satisfaction.
The White Lotus is available to stream on Max.
