On its sec ssond day, They Call Him OG did well in India, earning over Rs. 23.5 crore. The two-day running total now stands at Rs. 112 crore domestically.
The movie has made Rs. 162 crore worldwide, of which USD 5.70 million has come from overseas. Although the 75% decline from the first day is rather sharp, Telugu films typically follow this trend, which is made even more apparent now that the opening day is crowded with a lot of previews. It then becomes about the absolute statistics, which are good, and the drop becomes inconsequential.
With an approximate box office receipt of Rs. 20 crore in the Telugu states, the movie has a strong foundation for weekend sales. In Telugu states, the two-day total comes barely short of Rs. 100 crore. Aiming for around Rs. 140 crore, the four-day weekend might reach the high 140s if Saturday and Sunday see robust growth.
Although we have seen films drop after the weekend this year, the Monday hold will be something to watch. From there, it should clear Rs. 200 crore.
