When Mukesh Khanna said that her father, Shatrughan Sinha, was to blame for her inability to respond to a Ramayana question on KBC in 2019, Sonakshi Sinha retaliated.
The seasoned actor has now addressed Sonakshi’s comment in an interview with News9, saying that he had no malice in his heart. It took Sonakshi “so much time to react,” and Mukesh Khanna expressed his amazement, saying, “I am surprised she took so much time to react.”
“I was aware that using her name from that incident in the well-known Kaun Banega Crorepati show was making her angry. However, I had no malevolent desire to disparage her or her father, with whom I have a friendly relationship and who is my senior.”
“My intention was to react to the current generation, which elders refer to as ‘Genz,’ who have become enslaved to the Google world and mobile phones,” he added. Wikipedia and You Tube social interactions are the extent of their knowledge. And I was looking at a Hi-Fi case of her.”
When Sonakshi Sinha took part in Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 11 in 2019, she was asked for whom Hanuman provided Sanjeevani booti in the Ramayana, but she was unable to provide the right response. Mukesh accused Shatrughan Sinha for failing to teach Sonakshi about the Ramayana in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan.
Then, Sonakshi retaliated on Instagram against Mukesh Khanna for raising doubts about her background. She shares in her Instagram story, “Dear Sir, Mukesh Khanna ji …I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back.”
“Firstly let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious.”
On June 23, Sonakshi Sinha and her long-time partner Zaheer Iqbal exchanged vows in a small ceremony. Huma Qureshi and Aditi Rao Hydari were among the Bollywood superstars who attended the wedding. Sonakshi celebrated Zaheer’s birthday recently with her parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam, while Rekha supported the actor.
