TMKOC Fame Shailesh Lodha wins non-payment of dues lawsuit against producer Asit Modi

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, one of India’s most popular programs, has been in the headlines recently for all the wrong reasons. Shailesh Lodha, the beloved actor who portrayed the titular character, Taarak Mehta, for numerous years, announced his exit from the show in 2022. This year, it was revealed that he sued producer Asit Kumarr Modi for pending dues and also sued his production company. The actor reached out to National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The hearing, held in court in May came out in Shailesh Lodha’s favour.

According to today’s ETimes report, Shailesh Lodha won the case. Following the hearing, the court stated, ‘as per the settlement terms a sum of INR 1,05,84,000 are being paid by way of demand draft by Asit Modi to Shailesh Lodha’. Asit Modi was unable to pay his dues., therefore the Taarak Mehta actor contacted the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and started a corporate insolvency resolution under section 9. The case was heard virtually and was settled between the parties ‘as per the consent terms by the counsel for the parties.’

TMKOC, which debuted in 2008, just celebrated 15 years of airing. The show is based on the column Duniya Ne Oondha Chashmah and is one of the most famous programmes on television.
