Primetime Emmy-nominee Toby Jones, who is known for movies like Captain America: The First Avenger and Jurassic World, has reportedly joined the cast of the highly anticipated fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise which is currently under production in Leaderfoot, Melrose in the Scottish Borders. The 54-year-old actor was spotted along with Harrison Ford, who plays the beloved titular character, as they shot tense-looking scenes in the idyllic location, sporting bruised make-up and appearing in anguish for his role which has not been disclosed yet.

The movie, along with Ford, returning as Indiana Jones, and Jones also has an ensemble cast: including Golden Globe winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is known for her previous outings Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Fleabag; BAFTA Film Award-nominee Mads Mikkelsen known for his memorable roles in Doctor Strange, Hannibal, and the critically acclaimed Danish movie Another Round, Thomas Kretschmann known for his involvement in movies like Avengers: Age of Ultron, Penny Dreadful, and City of Angels; Boyd Holbrook who is known for Logan, and The Predator; and Shaunette Renée Wilson of Black Panther, and The Resident fame.
The movie is directed by two-time Academy Award winner James Mangold (Ford v Ferrari, Logan), who will be taking the reins from three-time Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg, who had directed the previous four installments of the franchise.
Jonathan Kasdan, who had previously worked on Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The First Time – who is also the son of the writer of Raiders of the Lost Ark Lawrence Kasdan, briefly involved himself in the scripting of the movie after original screenwriter David Koepp of Jurassic Park and Spider-Man fame exited the project. Original director Spielberg will be executive producing the movie along with Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel serving as producers. The movie is scheduled to release in theaters on 29 July 2022.
