In the first round, Deepika defeated Karma of Bhutan by 6-0. Deepika scored 26 in the first set and Karma 23. In the second set, Deepika scored 26 and Karma again got 23 points. In the third set, Deepika scored 27 points while Karma could only take 24 points.
