Weightlifter Chanu won the silver medal in the women’s 49 kg weight category on Saturday by lifting a total of 202 kg. Meera is the second athlete from India to win a medal in weightlifting. She ended India’s 21-year wait in this sport. Earlier, Karnam Malleswari had won the bronze medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
