Mirabai Chanu, who won the silver medal for India on the first day of the Tokyo Olympics, has returned to India. Meera is the only athlete to win a medal for India in this Olympics so far. There is an atmosphere of happiness in the country about her victory. People believe that Meera has set an example for the coming generation. This video has been shared by Meera’s fellow weightlifter Satish Shivalingam. Satish wrote in its caption; “Junior Mirabai Chanu, this is called inspiration.” Later, Mirabai Chanu also reacted to the same video. and she wrote; “So Cute. Just love this,” In this video, the girl applies powder in her hand like Mirabai and then lifts the weight. The historical video of Mirabai winning the medal is playing in the TV behind.

Weightlifter Chanu won the silver medal in the women’s 49 kg weight category on Saturday by lifting a total of 202 kg. Meera is the second athlete from India to win a medal in weightlifting. She ended India’s 21-year wait in this sport. Earlier, Karnam Malleswari had won the bronze medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
