Tony Bennett’s daughters, Antonia and Johanna, have made serious allegations against their brother, Danny, accusing him of mismanaging their late father’s estate and stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the family trust. The accusations were made in response to Danny’s request to transfer or dismiss their June 2024 petition, and they paint a troubling picture of Danny’s actions as the sole trustee of the family trust.
In their January 3 filing, Antonia and Johanna claim that Danny, who had been acting as the sole trustee after their father’s decline in health, misused his position for personal gain. The daughters allege that Danny took substantial sums of money from the family trust, including $200,700 in gifts to himself in 2022 and monthly advances of $50,000 starting in 2021, despite the agreement for these advances not being finalized until 2022. They also accuse him of taking funds from the trust for himself and his children, without proper oversight or transparency.
The filing also highlights a troubling sale of Tony’s assets to Iconoclast in 2022, which Danny claimed was necessary because the singer was running out of money. However, the daughters argue that records show their father still had millions of dollars at the time of the deal, raising suspicions that Danny’s actions were financially motivated. They also point out that Danny’s company, RPM, received nearly $2.6 million in commissions, while they themselves received far less—only $245,000 each.
Antonia and Johanna are now asking the court to ensure that Danny provides an accounting of his actions before and after their father’s death, as they believe he has not been transparent with the management of the trust. They emphasize that their father’s estate plans clearly indicated his intention for all four of his children to be treated equally, something they feel has been violated by Danny’s handling of the trust funds.
