Actor Tovino Thomas has revealed that he is no longer associated with the highly anticipated film starring Jr NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel. The project, which was first announced in 2022, has been generating significant buzz, but has seen limited updates in recent months.
Speaking during the promotions of his Malayalam film Pallichattambi in Hyderabad, Tovino confirmed his exit from the film, citing scheduling challenges. He explained that committing to a Telugu project often requires a longer time frame, which does not align with his working style.
Highlighting the difference between industries, Tovino shared that Malayalam films are typically completed in a single schedule, allowing him to focus on one project at a time. In contrast, Telugu films can extend over nearly a year, making it difficult for him to dedicate such a long period. He added that while he can allocate a few months, committing to an entire year is not feasible for him.
The film, tentatively referred to as Dragon, went on floors with a pooja ceremony in Hyderabad and was initially slated for a June 2026 release. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the title or updated timeline from the makers.
Meanwhile, Jr NTR recently joined the shoot after completing work on War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and also starring Hrithik Roshan. Despite the casting change, the project continues to remain one of the most awaited films in Telugu cinema.
