Train services resume in Kashmir after 11 months

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced that the train services has resumed in Kashmir Valley on February 22, 2021 after remaining suspend for 11 months, a step which as taken due to COVID-19. The trains will resume operations from Kashmir Valley on Banihal – Baramulla section.

The Railway Minister was reported saying that this will help enhance ease of movement & provide a big boost to the tourism sector. As of now only special trains are in operations across all over the the country along with few of suburban train services. Earlier, the Railways said that no date had been fixed for starting train services of passenger train operations.
