Travis Kelce says he is ‘heartbroken’ after Super Bowl parade shooting

Travis Kelce expressed his disbelief following gunmen’s shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl Parade on Wednesday, February 14, which resulted in one death and several other injuries.

Taking to hi X account, he wrote, “I am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today. My heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me.”

Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two children, was killed in the incident. She died from her injuries after surgery at a local hospital. According to her loved ones, she was shot in the abdomen.

“She was the most wonderful, beautiful person,” Lisa Lopez, a longtime friend and The Star’s newsroom executive administrative assistant, said.

The shooting injured at least 22 more individuals, nine of whom were children, according to reports. Police said that three persons were taken into custody. According to law enforcement sources, the incident is not terror-related.

“I’m angry at what happened today. The people who came to this celebration should expect a safe environment,” Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves told reporters during a press conference.

She added, “Because of bad actors, which were very few, this tragedy occurred even in the presence of uniformed law enforcement officers.”
