Maya Benberry, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, is skeptical of his new affair with Taylor Swift.
In a new interaction with Inside Edition, Benberry said, “The only reason that I question the genuineness of the relationship is because he’s talking to the media a lot.”
Benberry told “Inside Edition” that she received a lot of backlash for the allegedly inadvertent double tap, labeling Swifties “aggressive” and “hypocritical.”
“It’s really crazy to me that someone that I think is positive and really nice has such a negative and angry fanbase,” she stated, explaining that she has no hatred for the singer.
“I don’t know Taylor Swift, but I’m a fan of her music,” she said. “I don’t feel any way about her dating Travis. It’s cute. … She’s beautiful. She’s successful. We’re in two different lanes.”
But the Kentucky native made sure to add, “I had him first.”
Furthermore, Benberry stated that she is “offended” by the narrative that she is “jealous or bitter” since the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 33, has moved on with the singer.
Benberry, who won Kelce’s reality dating program “Catching Kelce” in 2016, said she and the athlete had been together for 8 months and that he had led her to believe they had “a future.”
She stated that she loved him and believed the two would marry. “He met my parents. I had a key to his penthouse. To me, that means that you’re pretty serious.”
Benberry also added that Kelce cheated on her. “Certain qualities don’t change in men,” she said before labeling him a “narcissist.”
Benberry said “Inside Edition” that Kelce never addressed her claim publicly or privately.
As a result, she stated that her “issue is more with Kelce” than with Swift because she believes the footballer is “laughing” at and “mocking” her.
