Trent Arnold might not make it to England’s squad for EURO 2020 this summer

Liverpool right-back Trent Arnold is not expected to seal a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this summer’s European competition despite having a good season with Liverpool in the Premier League.

Arnold has been one of the best right-backs in Premier League since 2016 when he first came into the limelight for his extremely precise passing and crossing abilities along with good speed but he never really convinced Southgate who has been skeptical about his defensive abilities in the backline.

Southgate will be leaving Trent out of the squad as England have many players in the right-back position, Manchester City’s Kyle Walker and Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier are the candidates that Southgate will definitely take to the European competition. Manchester United’s Van Bissaka and Chelsea youngster Reece James are also probable to take the third position in the Right back position.

Liverpool’s Trent Arnold will not be going to play in this summer’s competition but his club teammate, Jordan Henderson, will most probably be named in the squad by Southgate. He has been out since February due to an injury in his groin. If he can prove his fitness, he will definitely make it to the squad. Southgate will be announcing the squad on May 25 for the European competition.
