Trump administration impose sanctions on Chinese officials

United Nation has imposed sanctions on 14 of its high level of Chinese officials over allegations that they have undermined democratic processes in Hong Kong. The sanctions include all high-ranking members of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee. The Committee is assigned to oversee Chinese legislature and is responsible for adopting and implementing the national security law that paved the way for a crackdown in Hong Kong over the summer.
