TV actor Bhupinder Singh arrested for killing neighbour, injuring three people

Bhupinder Singh, a television actor, has been charged with murder after shooting a man and injuring three others during a squabble in Bijnor. The murder stemmed from a small incident regarding the felling of trees. Bhupinder, 54, has been in famous TV shows such as ‘Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam,’ ‘Ek Haseena Thi,’ ‘Madhubala -Ek Ishq Ek Junoon,’ ‘Rishton Ka Chakravyuh,’ and ‘Tere Sheher Mein,’ among others.

Bhupinder Singh and his aides fired more than ten rounds at four members of a family using both licensed and illegal guns. They murdered Govind (23), a family member. Three members of the same family were shot and critically injured: his father Gurdeep Singh, mother Meera Bai and elder brother Amreek Singh. All three are being treated at the local hospital. They are in a critical condition.

The DIG from Moradabad met the injured and gathered information about the incident as soon as this firing was received. The victim’s friends accused the police of negligence and filed a complaint to the DIG. They alleged that the police took no action despite their complaint on November 19.

As of now, two persons who opened fire have been arrested by police.

The DIG stated that the investigation is ongoing. Two more suspects are being searched. The DIG said the matter of police carelessness will be investigated. He further added that if any flaws are found, strict action will be taken. So far, the in-charge of the Badhapur police station, Sumit Rathi, an inspector named Yasin, and a police constable named Krishna Kumar have all been suspended.
