Twitter puts limit to number of posts user can view in a day: Elon Musk announces temporary changes

On Saturday, Twitter has put a limit to the number of posts a user can view on daily basis, announced by Elon Musk.

Musk took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “To address extreme levels of data scrapping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:” His tweet further revealed that the verified accounts have a limit of 6,000 posts/day, unverified accounts have a limit of 600 posts/day and new unverified accounts are limited to 300 posts/day.

On Friday, the social media platform had blocked users from viewing the tweets on its websites unless they are signed in to their account.

It is required to sign up for an account or log into an already existing account to read tweets. Musk stated, “We were getting data pillage so much that it was degrading service for normal users.”

The announcement was made by Musk, owner of Twitter, after thousands of users complained about the platform’s outage and experienced difficulty while retrieving the tweets.

Twitter has also begun charging users to access its Application Programming Interface (API), which is used by third-party apps and researchers.
