Tyler Perry is gearing up to deliver double the entertainment on Netflix this year with two exciting new projects!
First up is Madea’s Destination Wedding, a comedy that brings back the beloved Madea universe. This time, Brian and his ex-wife Debrah find themselves in a whirlwind as they race to the Bahamas for their daughter Tiffany’s impulsive wedding to a rapper she met on a yacht. What follows is a hilarious mix of chaos, family drama, and heartfelt moments.
Perry not only directs and co-produces but also stars in the film alongside Cassi Davis Patton, David Mann, Tamela Mann, Taja V. Simpson, Diamond White, Jermaine Harris, and Xavier Smalls. As a sequel to A Madea Homecoming, which dominated Netflix’s Global Top 10 Films for four weeks in 2022, this film promises more of the outrageous humor fans love.
Switching gears, Perry’s second project, She The People, is a political comedy series with a sharp and timely premise. It follows Antoinette Dunkerson, a fierce politician running for Lieutenant Governor, who must navigate a sexist boss and protect her family’s image while building her career.
Terri J. Vaughn leads the series, with a supporting cast that includes Jade Novah, Drew Olivia Tillman, Tré Boyd, Dyon Brooks, and Jo Marie Payton. Perry takes the reins as writer, director, and producer.
These projects are part of Perry’s ongoing multi-year creative partnership with Netflix, which has already produced hits like The Six Triple Eight. Fans can also look forward to Beauty in Black Part 2, arriving on March 6, 2025, and his new drama feature, Straw, later this year.
