Uber Black Expansion Signals Growing Demand for Premium Mobility in India

Uber on Wednesday announced plans to double the fleet size of its Uber Black service by 2026, reinforcing its commitment to premium mobility in India’s largest urban markets.

Uber Black, operational in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, offers luxury vehicles, top-rated drivers, and a refined ride experience aimed at riders seeking comfort and reliability. The service also features exclusive Uber Black Zones at Bengaluru and Mumbai airports to ensure faster and smoother pickups.

To support the expansion, Uber has made a Series A investment in Carrum, a CarDekho Group-backed fleet management partner. The funding will enable Carrum to expand its premium fleet and scale operations.

Uber has also introduced advance booking for Uber Black in Delhi through its Reserve feature, allowing users to book rides between two hours and 90 days in advance.

Prabhjeet Singh said Uber is seeing strong demand for premium services from Indian riders.

Uber further revealed that more than one million riders in India are now subscribed to Uber One, its membership programme offering benefits across bikes, autos, and cars.

Uber has been present in India since 2013 and now operates across 125 cities nationwide.
